NELLORE, JAN. 2. The police in Sullurpet have arrested three offenders and recovered from them eight sovereigns of ornaments, which were allegedly stolen from the house of a railway employee, last month. While two offenders belonged to Tamil Nadu, one was from Srikalahasti.
Purse snatched
In another incident, also in Sullurpet, unknown offenders snatched away a purse containing some jewellery, from a woman, while she was making some purchases.
Body identified
The police have identified the charred body, found on the main road, near Talpagiri Colony of Nellore on Saturday, as that of one Nagaraju, a catering master. He was from Haranathapuram area of the town. A dog squad that was pressed into service hovered along the Ayyappa temple centre. According to the DSP, D. Narasimha Reddy, an analysis of calls received on the cell phone found near the body, revealed that the victim had received a call asking him to come to the temple area on December 31 night, for a catering order. There he reportedly had dinner with some persons as was evident from circumstantial evidence. However, the caller was yet to be to be identified.
