ANANTAPUR, JAN. 2. The State secretariat member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Kurnool legislator, M.A. Gaffoor, alleged that the Governments at the State and in the Centre were following the same policies of globalisation, which were adopted by the previous regimes. Speaking at the inaugural session of the 8th district congress of CPI(M) here today, he warned that their party would mobilise people and fight for their problems if the Governments fail to change their approach of kowtowing to the "imperialist forces." Stating that the CPI(M) was fighting for a society without disparities, he said the disparities in society would be inevitable as long as exploitation continued. He observed that globalisation was increasing poverty and technological advancements too were helping the rich at the cost of the poor. He rejected the arguments that communism was on the verge of extinction and asserted that the ideology was still relevant. The problem was in the implementation of the ideology, he noted. He cited China, Cuba and Vietnam as the best examples of development with communism.
