Sales awards for State, Tamil Nadu

HYDERABAD,
JAN. 3.
Andhra Pradesh bagged the highest sales award (Rs.25.40 lakhs) in the sixth 10-day Regional DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) Bazaar which concluded here on Saturday. Tamil Nadu won two awards — highest sale by an outside State of Rs.8.05 lakhs and the best State coordinator, Saravanan.
The lace stall put up by the West Godavari district was adjudged the best.
Some 450 participants of DWCRA/self-help groups from 12 States came for the bazaar, which recorded a sale of Rs. 2.24 crores, handloom products achieving the highest sale among the items sold. Representatives of the participating SHGs voluntarily came forward to donate Rs.20,380 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the benefit of tsunami victims.
