BANGALORE, JAN. 3. The Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society is considering introducing condom vending machines in cinema complexes and bars and restaurants following the success of the project at 50 Sulabh toilet complexes in Bangalore. N. Seethalakshmi, Additional Project Director of KSAPS, said that the voluntary counselling and testing centre for HIV/AIDS will be expanded to all taluk hospitals by the end of the year. At present, this facility is available in all district hospitals and medical colleges. Speaking at an AIDS awareness drive, organised by the National Cadet Corps of Sikkim and West Bengal and the Lions Club of Jayamahal, she said that a fourth anti-retro viral centre for the State may soon be set up at Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary. Sixteen cadets from West Bengal and Sikkim travelled more than 3,500 km on their motorcycles spreading the message of HIV/AIDS. They passed through Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. At every place, they were joined by cadets from the respective States. S.R. Morey, Minister for Municipal Administration, commended the cadets for their sense of social responsibility.
