13 arrested for `Filmi-style' offences

HYDERABAD,
JAN. 3.
Thirteen persons, including six youngsters, who allegedly began committing offences as depicted in the recently released `Dhoom' movie, were arrested by the Sultanbazar police on Sunday. Two country-made revolvers, six live rounds, three gold chains and two two-wheelers were seized from the arrested, the East Zone DCP, K. Rajendranath Reddy, told a press conference, on Monday.
Some of the arrested also hatched a plan to kill a `pahelwan' Raghu of Shahinayatgunj for a payment of Rs. 18 lakhs. A woman, Zahera Begum, who offered money for elimination of Raghu and four other members of the gang -- Mintoo, Dayakar, Chandu and Bharat -- were still at large, he said.
Nine of them were caught while attempting a theft at Kenstar shop in Hanuman Tekdi. Based on their confession, four of their associates were arrested.
