CPI(M) wings, BJP collect aid for tsunami-hit

TIRUPATI. Jan 4. The frontal organisations of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Bharatiya Janata Party today hit the roads to collect and despatch the relief materials in aid of the tsunami-battered victims.
The Seva Bharati despatched a truckload of relief materials comprising two tonnes of rice, utensils, clothes etc. The materials collected by organisations like VHP, Ramdev Seva Samiti, Raj Purohit Seva Sangh, etc. would be handed over to the RSS-sponsored organisation-- Jana Sankshema Samithi for distribution in the affected areas. The truck was flagged-off among others by the head of the Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka RSS in-charge, Ramachandra Haldekar.
The CITU's town unit mobilised donations from local traders and public and sent the same to its district body for onward despatch.
The Chittoor Auto Nagar Association president, Venkatesula Naidu, along with the secretary, Sahadevan, treasurer Sundararama Moorthy and Industrial estate society chairman, G.D. Naidu, on Tuesday presented a demand draft for Rs.10,016 towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the Joint Collector, Rajendra Prasad as part of its contribution for tsunami victims.
