His heart beats for Congress

SANGAREDDY, JAN. 4. The Minister for Transport, S. Santosh Reddy, has declared that he is still a Congressman at heart and a votary for separate Telangana.

Speaking to reporters here on his way to attend a private function, Mr. Santosh Reddy said: "I do not mind being branded a YSR's man as he is our leader."

The Minister listed the steps taken by the department to regulate traffic inside and outside the cities in the State. He said the stage was set for removal of wine shops adjacent to the national and State highways.

Along with strengthening border checkposts, 53 posts of Assistant Vehicle Inspector would be filled very soon.

For the time being home guards from the Police Department would be deputed to the RTA Department, he said.

Mr. Santosh Reddy said that the credit of introducing Garuda buses in Telangana region went to the present Government.

He promised introduction of Volvo bus services from Medak to other parts of the State.

The Zaheerabad and Muddunur checkposts in the district would be modernised and electronic surveillance systems would be installed, the Minister said.
