Bhullar in the van

MUMBAI, JAN. 4. Teen sensation Gaganjeet Bhullar produced a four-under 66 to take the lead on the first day of the Royal Challenge Western India amateur golf tournament at the par-70 BPGC course on Tuesday.

H.S. Kang (67) and A.S. Lehal (69) occupy second and third positions respectively after 18 holes in this event, part of the Royal Challenge Indian Golf Tour.

The leader, enjoying the fast greens, started off with a birdie and came up with 10-foot putts on the third and fourth for two more birdies.

A bogey on the fifth, double-bogey on the next took him to even-par, followed by success on the back nine in form of four birdies on 10th, 12th, 15th and 18th.

The Western India amateur tournament is organised by Tiger Sports Marketing.
