Women robbed of valuables

BANGALORE, JAN. 4. Jnana Ragini was robbed of her bag containing a mobile phone and other valuables in K.R. Puram Police Station limits on Monday.

The victim, who worked in the Ramamurthynagar branch of ICICI Bank, had alighted from a bus and was on her way to her house at T.C. Palya when an unidentified man snatched her bag, the police said..

He also grabbed her neck and tried to snatch away her chain before running away, the police said.

In another case, two persons on a motorcycle snatched a purse with Rs. 3,500 in cash, a credit card and a BMTC bus pass from a pedestrian Shakti on 80-ft. Road in Jeevanbhima Nagar Police Station limits on Monday night.

The victim, a software trainee at ITPL, Whitefield, was walking to her house on 7th Cross, Kodihalli, at about 8.40 p.m. when the culprits came from behind and snatched away her purse, the police said.

Waylaid

In K.G. Halli Police Station limits, two unidentified persons waylaid an MBA student, Simon Avinash, and forced him to part with his gold chain worth Rs. 30,000 late on Monday night.

Mr. Avinash was returning to his house in HRBR Layout on his motorcycle at about 10 p.m. when the culprits accosted him in the pretext of asking directions to an address. Even as he was trying to help, the duo assaulted him and robbed him of the chain.

Robbery

Another robbery was reported in Madiwala Police Station limits in which eight to 10 persons barged into a building construction site, assaulted the watchman and took away building material worth about Rs. 2 lakhs on Monday night.

The Madiwala Police are investigating based on a complaint by K. Vinod Kumar, contractor attached to a private construction company.

Arrested

The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police arrested four persons, including two women, on the charge of running a prostitution racket.

Rajan (24), Ramesh (22) and the women were arrested from a house on Kempapura 1st Cross in Hebbal Police Station limits on Monday.

A mobile phone and Rs. 1,000 were also seized from them, the police said.
