Two arrested, stolen property recovered

Monitoring the calls of a stolen mobile phone helped the Kachiguda police arrest two teenagers accused of involvement in four house-breaking cases and recover stolen property worth over Rs.6 lakh.
The arrested, Syed Siddiqui and Himayat Noor Khan, both aged 19, confessed to the police that they broke into four houses between June and December 2004, the East Zone DCP, K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, told a press conference on Tuesday.
Following a burglary reported in Kachiguda police station area in December, the police monitored the outgoing and incoming calls of the mobile stolen from the victim's house and nabbed the main offender, Javed, and his accomplice, Khan, Mr. Reddy explained.
The Kachiguda Inspector, S. Anil Kumar, recovered jewellery weighing 72 tolas and 1.5 kg silver articles.
Gold recovered
In a separate case, the Kachiguda police arrested a person, Manoj Kumar Soni, and recovered 11 tolas of stolen gold ornaments and four two-wheelers.
In another case, the Amberpet police apprehended a photographer, J. Parashuram (28), on charge of stealing 10 tolas of gold ornaments from his friend Narender's house at Premnagar on Monday.
