dated January 06,1955: England beats Australia

Thanks to a great spell of fast bowling by Tyson, who took six wickets for 18 runs and finished with the figures of seven for 27, England gained a great victory by 128 runs over Australia in the third Test at Melbourne on January 5 and took a 2-1 lead in the present series. Australia were all out in their second innings for 111, the remaining eight wickets crashing for the addition of 36 runs. Tyson completely annihilated Harvey, Benaud, Miller, Maddocks, Lindwall and Johnson to take six wickets for 16 runs off 6.3 overs. Thus England won easily.
