Isolated light rain likely in south Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, JAN. 5. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Kerala and dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The minimum temperature fell markedly at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, fell appreciably at one or two places over interior Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest south interior Karnataka, fell at a few places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, rose at one or two places over north Tamil Nadu, rest coastal Karnataka and changed a little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, north Kerala, north interior Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at one or two places over south Kerala, appreciably below normal at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, north interior Tamil Nadu, below normal at one or two places over rest north Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Chitradurga recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Friday morning): Isolated light rain is likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu, south Kerala and southern parts of Lakshadweep and mainly dry weather will prevail over north Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, north Kerala and northern parts of Lakshdweep.

Outlook For Subsequent Two Days: No significant change.
