Syndicate Bank's gesture for tsunami hit people
MANGALORE: Syndicate Bank has reduced its interest rates on loans taken by the tsunami affected people. In a release from the Regional office the bank stated that the interest rates on housing loan under priority sector availed by the individuals identified to have been affected by tsunami would be lowered by one per cent. The rate on all other priority sector advances availed by such persons would be reduced by 2 per cent across the board. These lower rates would be available on existing and fresh loans sanctioned by the bank. The bank had already made a contribution of Rs. 2.50 crores to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for the rehabilitation of tsunami victims, the release added. Our Staff Correspondent
