NEW DELHI, JAN. 5. A Delhi court will pronounce this Thursday its judgment in the Maulana Azad Medical College student gang rape case, two years after the girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by four young men at knife point on the terrace of the `Khooni Darwaza' monument in Central Delhi. Additional Sessions Judge Chandra Shekhar had on December 14, 2004 reserved his order after hearing arguments. While defence counsel Ajay Digpaul contended that prime accused Rahul was a minor when the incident occurred and should have been tried by Juvenile Justice Board, prosecution counsel Alka Goel said bone-age determination tests showed the accused to be a major. Though the defence claimed that there was delay in registering the FIR, prosecution claimed it was because the victim was afraid of the social stigma that would follow.
