Varsity waives exam fee for affected students

CHENNAI,
JAN. 5.
Anna University has exempted students who are affected by the tsunami from paying examination fees and will reimburse the cost of reading materials lost in the disaster. The decision was taken at the Syndicate meeting here today.
In a press release, the Vice-Chancellor, E. Balagurusamy, and the Registrar, K. Jayaraman, said the meeting decided that parents of wards studying in colleges coming under the control of the university need not pay tuition, examination and hostel fees.
Graduating students would be considered for temporary placements as professional assistants during 2005-06.
