KASARAGOD, JAN. 5. The Manjeswaram MLA, Cherkalam Abdulla today inaugurated the district-level youth festival, `Balakalolsavam,' `Samskritolsavam,' `Arabic Sahitolsavam' and `TTI Kalolsavam.' The five-day event got under way at the Durga Higher Secondary School in Kanhangad near on January 3. As many as 3,500 students, representing 125 high schools, 432 UP schools and three TTIs in the district are competing in the arts festival. The following are some of the results of the off-stage events held on January 3 and 4 (The results are given in the order of the event, name of first prize winner with the name of the school in brackets). The Holy Family Higher secondary School, Rajapuram, retained its title for the best school band for the sixth consecutive year. Youth festival (High School section): Painting (water colour) - T.V.
