TIRUCHI, JAN. 5 . Students of the Government Music School in the city offered special recitals today in homage to tsunami victims.

They played on various instruments including `veena' and `nagaswaram' and also recited verses from the `Thevaram'. "The songs were carefully selected so as to suit the occasion", said the headmaster of the school, M. N. Sathyamurthy.

Students played on their respective instruments in tune with a song, invoking the blessings of the Almighty for an all-pervading peace among the human race.

School teachers, G. Kalaivani and K. Sagaya Mary recited poems in homage to the departed souls in the coastal parts of Asia.
