MADURAI, JAN.5. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 31.3 degree Celsius and a minimum of degree 20.6 Celsius.
Water level
No water supply
A statement said the engineers who were working on plugging leaks at some points could not to succeed, owing to high pressure on the pipelines. The supply would resume from January 9.
House burgled
According to the police, the burglars entered the house of S. Palanirajan (36) of Uthangidu, breaking open the front door. When the inmates returned home at around 9 p.m., Rs.1.2 lakhs, 49 sovereigns of gold ornaments and two kg of silver utensils among other valuables were missing. Fingerprint experts and sniffer dogs were pressed into service. Senior police officials visited the spot.
