JAIPUR, JAN. 6. The Rajasthan Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Kalulal Gujjar, today urged the members of the Assembly to recommend the utilisation of their local area development funds for launching the drought relief works and remit the money to Zila Parishads. Mr. Gujjar pointed out that there was a provision for dovetailing of development works in the drought-affected areas with the relief works. He called upon the MLAs to play a meaningful role in the execution of relief works to provide succour to the people in their respective constituencies. The Minister said as many as 18,613 villages in 25 districts had been declared drought-affected in 2004. The relief works in these villages started on December 1, 2004.
