JAIPUR, JAN. 6. The Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) will construct 300 houses for weaker sections of society in Bhilwara in southern Rajasthan as part of an ambitious "Apna Ashiana" (our haven) scheme. The trust has started the construction of model houses in the town under the scheme. The total cost of a house would be Rs. 49,000 and the UIT will allot the housing units on the payment of meagre instalments of Rs. 12 per day. The Bhilwara Collector, Rajiv Singh Thakur, said in a statement that the facilities of dispensary, school, park, community centre, commercial complex and telephone and dairy booths would be provided in the housing scheme.
