By Our Staff Reporter

Inaugurating a water scheme under the aegis of the Joint Farming Cooperative Society at Gopavaram in Badvel constituency, he said that development was confined to some areas in the past and the farmers were in dire straits due to neglect of irrigation projects by the previous Government, he said.

The Government would complete irrigation projects in a planned manner by overcoming legal hurdles in the tender process. Irrigation projects were accorded priority and Rs. 4,235 crores was allotted this year, he said.

In this connection, he assured that the Government would take all measures for their welfare and urged voluntary organisations to contribute towards this end. Later, he distributed tricycles to the physically challenged.
