India, Pakistan continue talks on power project

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, JAN. 6. India and Pakistan continued here on the third day today in their efforts to resolve differences on the Baglihar hydropower project in Jammu and Kashmir.

There was no official word on the outcome of the Secretary-level talks except that there would be a joint briefing tomorrow. Sources, however, indicated that efforts were on to conclude the discussions tonight. Otherwise, talks could spill over tomorrow.

The two sides are trying to resolve their differences over the design of the 450 MW project. On Tuesday both sides identified six technical issues on which the talks are centred.
