CHENNAI, JAN. 6 . The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, is visiting Chennai tomorrow and will discuss with the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, and officials on the tsunami havoc in the State. According to official sources, Dr. Singh will also meet the president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), M. Karunanidhi. The Prime Minister, who arrives at Chennai airport at 3.05 p.m., will reach Raj Bhavan at 3.25 p.m., where he will have an hour-long meeting with Ms. Jayalalithaa and officials from 3.30 p.m. After the Governor, Surjit Singh Barnala, meets him at 5 p.m., Dr. Singh will leave for Mr. Karunanidhi's residence at 5.45 p.m. He will meet the DMK chief for 30 minutes from 6 p.m. before leaving for the Raj Bhavan where he will halt for the night. On Saturday, Dr. Singh will reach Chennai airport at 6.55 a.m., to leave for Port Blair by an Indian Air Force Boeing at 7 a.m.
Rangasamy to meet Manmohan
The Pondicherry Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, told reporters in Pondicherry today that he would meet Dr. Singh in Chennai tomorrow and urge him to visit the tsunami-hit villages in the Pondicherry and Karaikal regions.
