Villagers shocked
ANANTAPUR,
JAN. 6.
People of Narsimpalli thanda in Bukkapatnam mandal in the district, the native place of K.C. Surendra Babu, were shocked to hear about his death.His paternal grandmother, Tulasamma, and a few other relatives were at his father's house in the thanda when the information reached them. "He visited the village during Dasara festival and promised to visit in summer holidays this year. He also gave me some money while returning,'' the 75-year-old grandmother of Surendra Babu recollected.
The villagers said they did not believe the information at first, but were shocked after confirming it with Surendra Babu's parents in Hyderabad. Condemning the killing they expressed anger at the naxalites for targeting SC and ST communities.
The District Police Officers' Association also condemned the gruesome killing of the IPS officer and others by the naxalites.
