Osmania wins trophy

KARAIKUDI, JAN. 6. Helped by Diana David's sparkling 70 and Sravanthi's dazzling unbeaten 69, Osmania beat Pune by three wickets in the final of the all-India inter-University women's cricket tournament and lifted the Gunavathi C.K. Nayudu Trophy here on Thursday.

Guru Nanak Dev, Amritsar, last year's runner-up finished third defeating Calcutta by 51 runs.

The scores (final): Pune 197 for nine in 50 overs (Sarika Gaekwad 82) lost to Osmania 198 for seven in 47.1 overs (Diana David 70, Sravanthi 69 n.o., Snehal Pradhan four for 33).

Third place: GNDU, Amristar 163 in 48.4 overs (Riya four for 25) bt Calcutta 112 in 41.1 overs (Sakunthala 40 n.o.). — Our Correspondent
