Curtain to fall on schools youth fete today

PATHANAMTHITTA, JAN 6. The eighth district-level Higher Secondary Schools' youth festival will come to a close at Thiruvalla tomorrow.

The competitions in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattom, Kuchipudi and Keralanatanam and drama were held at the main venues of the festival today.

Competitions in classical music, light music, group music, for both girls and boys were also held at the youth fete.

Sreedevi N. Namboodiri of the Balikamadhom Higher Secondary School, Thirumoolapuram, near Thiruvalla, won the first prize in Bharathanatyam. P. Parvathi of PSVPM HSS, Konni, stood first in the Mohiniyattom contest.

The following are the first, second and third prize winners respectively of various competitions held at the youth festival today:

Bharatanatyam (girls): Sreedevi N. Namboodiri of Balikamadhom Higher Secondary School, Thirumoolapuram; V.S. Chitra, Kadambanad South HSS; Y. Kavyalakshmi, SNDP HSS, Muttathukonam.

Bharatanatyam (boys): Nithin Krishna, MGM HSS, Thiruvalla; V.Harikrishnan, NSS HSS, Adoor; S. Subin, Devaswom Board HSS, Kavumbhagom.

Margamkalai: M.Anulakshmi and party, SVGV HSS, Kidangannur; Divya Das and party, SNDP HSS, Karamvely; Ganga G. Nair and party, SCS HSS, Thiruvalla.

Desabhakthiganam: Rukma Mohan, St. Thomas HSS, Kozhencherry; J. Subrahmaniam, DB HSS, Kavumbhagom; Johny Jacob Samuel, SCS HSS, Thiruvalla.
