By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, JAN. 6. A 20-year-old housewife, Annapoorna, allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her in-laws' house in Prakashnagar in the Rajajinagar Police Station limits on Thursday.

The police later arrested her husband, Kumar, father-in-law, Srinivas, and mother-in-law, Shankaramma, on the charge of harassing Annapoorna, which allegedly forced her to commit suicide.

According to the police, Annapoorna locked the house from inside, doused herself with kerosene and set herself on fire. She died on the spot. The couple had been married for the last 10 months.

Boy dies

Tragedy struck a two-and half year-old boy, Sudeep, when a bowl of boiled water fell on him at his residence in Boodhipalya in the Talaghattapura Police Station limits. Sudeep was rushed to the Victoria Hospital soon after the incident on Monday. He was declared dead on Tuesday.

Sudeep's mother, Savitha, had kept the bowl of boiled water near a stove. The boy tugged at the bowl, leading to the accident.
