BANGALORE, JAN. 6. The police said a gang of persons broke into the Vinayaka Temple at Narayanapura in the Hennur Police Station limits on Thursday and took away silver ornaments that adorned the idol and the cash from the hundi. On a complaint by the temple archak, the Hennur Police have registered a case.
Stolen
In another incident, a gang entered a mobile phone shop in 6th Block, Koramanagala, off Mangala Kalyana Mantap, by breaking open the rolling shutters. They allegedly stole Rs. 650 in cash and eight mobile phone from the shop. The Koramangala Police have registered a case on a complaint by Mir Saleem Ali, proprietor of the shop.
Taken away
In an incident reported from Arakere in MICO Layout Police Station limits, a gang of persons decamped with a mobile phone and a colour television set from the house of Suresh Vishwanath, a laboratory assistant. In a complaint with the MICO Layout Police, Vishwanath said he had forgotten to lock the door before going to sleep.
Seized
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials on Wednesday raided two business establishments on Kempegowda Road and in Gandhinagar and seized pirated VCDs and MP3s. The seized material has been valued at Rs. 50,000. The proprietors of the shops, Vishwanath (40) of Chamarajpet and Deepu (21) of Kumara Park, were arrested on the charge of selling pirated goods, the police said.
