The city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 15.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The relative humidity was 28 per cent.

At the airport, the maximum temperature was 28 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 13.3 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 29 per cent.

The forecast for Friday is: the sky will be mainly clear. Fog/mist is likely in the early hours. The minimum temperature will be 15 degree Celsius.

Letter writing

The Department of Posts, Karnataka Circle, will conduct the 34th Universal Postal Union Letter Writing Competition for schoolchildren aged less than 15 on January 30. The competition will be held between 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. at the Government Women's Polytechnic on Seshadri Road.

The topic for the competition is "A letter to my favourite fairytale character". The last date for receipt of application is January 18.
