Police website to be launched

KOCHI, JAN. 6. The Director General of Police, P.K. Hormis Tharakan, will launch the website of the City Police at the EMS Town Hall here on January 9. The DGP will also release Police Bulletin, the monthly newsletter of city police at the function. The monthly meeting with representatives of residents' associations will be held following the function.

Youth arrested

Shafeeq, 25, hailing from Kozhikode, was arrested by the police from Kaloor on Thursday morning, in connection with a bike accident on December 13, in which a woman had died. Sofiya, a native of Kollam, had died as she was hit by a private bus after falling from the motor bike driven by Mr. Shafeeq.

Seminar

The Department of Physics, Cochin University of Science and Technology, will organise a national seminar on gravity and light here on January 14 and 15, as part of the World Year of Physics 2005 celebrations.
