HYDERABAD, JAN. 6. The Traffic police on Thursday clarified that no targets were fixed for traffic police stations in the city. "Motorists have been booked for fewer traffic violations during 2004 than in 2003 and 2002" the Additional Commissioner of police (Traffic) Tejdeep Kaur Menon stated in a clarification issued on Thursday. Giving the figures of cases booked, Ms. Menon said that even as the number of vehicles plying in the city had gone up, the fine amount collected was less compared to 2002 and 2003. "There is no question of any pressure from higher-ups to book more cases," Ms. Menon said.
