Festive touch to child rights campaign

HYDERABAD, JAN. 6. Fly kites and join the campaign for child rights is the theme for this Sankranthi.

The Hyderabad Council of Human Welfare (HCHW), in association with the district administration and the Sarvashiksha Abhiyan, is organising a State-wide campaign on child rights with the slogan `Fly Kites for Child Rights', which aims at creating awareness on child rights through the fun and frolic of Sankranthi festivities.

The two-day first phase of the campaign will get off from January 8 at the People's Plaza on Necklace Road from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. before being extended to other districts in the State.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the Hyderabad Collector, Arvind Kumar, and the HCHW director, Mohd. Rafiuddin, said corporates, colleges and schools would be involved in the event.Mr. Kumar also launched a website, www.flykitesindia.com, for the campaign on the occasion.
