THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN. 6. The State president of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Panakkad Syed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal, has demanded that the United Democratic Front Government should implement the Narendran Commission report in the State immediately. Inaugurating a meeting organised here by the party tonight to honour P.K. Kunhalikutty who had resigned from the post of Industries Minister, the IUML chief said the ambition that the party could be finished off would not materialise. He alleged that the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) was trying to tarnish the image of the IUML. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kunhalikutty said the IUML had benefited from the plot against him and that it was the CPI (M), BJP and some media persons in the State who were trying to drag him into controversy. He alleged that the Opposition was putting hurdles on the path of the State's development. Projects in the Global Investors Meet held at Kochi could owing to opposition from the LDF, he added.
