KOLKATA, JAN. 7. Vijay Kumar of Lucknow captured his first Amby Valley PGAI tour title of this season. He toppled the leader of the first three rounds, Shiv Kapur, on the sixth play-off hole to pick up the winner's cheque of Rs. 1,62,00 on the final day of the RCGC Open golf championship here on Friday. ijay's charge started on a quiet note as he pared the first two holes and bogeyed the third. He went on to birdie the par-5 fourth, par-4 seventh and ninth holes cutting the deficit down to just two strokes as they hit the turn. The scores (after 72 holes): 278: Vijay Kumar (71, 68, 71, 68), Shiv Kapur (65, 72, 69, 72); 284: Mukesh Kumar (68, 71, 77, 68); 285: Uttam Singh Mundy (74, 73, 69, 69); 286: Feroz Ali (70, 70, 72, 74); 287: Yusuf Ali (71, 69, 73, 74); 288: Arjun Singh (70, 72, 74, 72), Mohd. Islam (66, 75, 75, 72); 289: Gurbaaz Mann (71, 69, 75, 74); 290: Sandeep Syal (73, 70, 77, 70).
