Clijsters officially out of Australian Open

SYDNEY, JAN.7. Belgian Kim Clijsters has confirmed her withdrawal from the Australian Open, getting underway in Melbourne on January 17.

Clijsters, who ended her engagement to Australian Lleyton Hewitt late last year, released a statement on her website on Friday confirming that she would be unable to play in Melbourne because of a wrist injury.
