IOC reigns supreme
BANGALORE,
JAN. 7.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) annexed the PSPB inter-unit hockey title for the third time defeating Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) at the KSHA Stadium here on Friday.
Hamza Mujitaba (two goals), Deepak Thakur and Prabhjot Singh (one each) scored for IOC, while S.S. Gill pulled one back for BPCL.
ONGC finished third beating OIL 4-1, thanks to a hat-trick by Amit Kumar. Anurag Raghuvanshi scored the other goal. G. Bora netted OIL's consolation goal.
The IOC-BPCL match witnessed many an unruly scene. BPCL players even threatened to walk out for denying a penalty-stroke by umpire Venu Uthappa.
