Golden jubilee fete of school

The Director of Primary Education, J. Bhaskaraiah, speaking at the golden jubilee celebrations of Ganapathi Aided Higher Primary School in Mangalore on Friday.

MANGALORE, JAN. 7. The Director of Primary Education, J. Bhaskaraiah, on Friday inaugurated the golden jubilee celebrations of Ganapathi Aided Higher Primary School, managed by Saraswath Vidya Samsthe here.

Mr. Bhaskaraiah assured the school that he would help in appointing additional teachers if the school met the required norms with regard to student intake. "If you take steps increase the student intake to around 120 to 160 students, I will ensure that the school gets a minimum of four teachers as per norms,'' he said.

Mr. Bhaskaraiah recalled his association with the institution during his stint as the staff and later as principal of the B.Ed college here. He said the decisions taken by the members of the management committee during its years of inception and the later association of stalwarts such as Shivaram Karanth with it spoke volumes about the institution.

The Mangalore MLA, N. Yogish Bhat, presided over the function. Mr. Bhaskaraiah honoured former teachers and principals of the school on the occasion. The Chairman of Mohiuddin Educational Trust, B. Ahmad Mohiuddin, Editor, Udayavani, Manipal, N.Gururaj, former President, Rotary Club Mangalore East, M.N. Gururaj were present. Kiran Panemangalore proposed a vote of thanks.
