HYDERABAD, JAN. 7. The Andhra Pradesh Fair Price Shop Dealers' Federation on Friday donated Rs. 31,11,116 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. While M.S. Lakshamana Rao, Managing Director, VBC Ferro Alloys Ltd and Group contributed Rs.10 lakhs each, P. Vidyasagar, Chairman and Managing Director, Vibha Seeds, Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals Ltd, M.V.V.S.Murthy, former MP and president, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management donated Rs.5 lakhs each.
Apollo contribution
The Chairman of Apollo Group of Hospitals, Prathap C. Reddy, on Friday handed over a cheque for Rs. 29 lakhs to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The Apollo Hospital also set up a helpline to enable people reach them in case they need any help or are interested in extending any help. The number is 1600-33-1066, according to a press release.
SBGI gesture
The city-based Shriram Bioseed Genetics India (SBGI) made a contribution of Rs.11 lakhs. The Jockeys of Hyderabad Race Club, Malakpet, has donated Rs. 50,000. Teachers and non-teaching employees of University of Hyderabad contributed a day's salary towards Prime Minister's Relief Fund for rehabilitation of tsunami victims. The one-day salary contribution and donations collected by students was Rs. 5.5 lakhs.
