Be fair, YSR tells ration shop dealers
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
JAN. 7.
The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has regretted that some unscrupulous fair price shop dealers are selling foodgrains in the black market thereby denying cardholders the benefit of Public Distribution System (PDS).
Addressing a State-level convention of dealers near the Goshamahal police stadium here on Friday, Dr. Reddy said there was an allegation that some dealers had retained the ration cards issued by the previous TDP Government to sell the cardholders' quota at a premium. He appealed to them to function with responsibility.
Meet soon
The Chief Minister said a meeting of the dealers' welfare federation would be convened to find a solution to their problems, some of which were genuine. He would make a sincere attempt to solve them though it may not be possible to address all the grievances at a time.
