Exam. to promote constables

DEHRA DUN, JAN. 8. The Uttaranchal police department will soon hold a special examination for promoting 250 constables and head constables as sub-inspectors.

Announcing this here today, senior officials at the State police headquarters said the exercise was meant to open up promotional avenues for talented men working at the lowest levels.

All constables and head constables working with the regular police, intelligence and the PAC would be eligible to take the test.

This comes after a promotions galore in all the State services over the past two years. Recently a number of tehsildars were promoted as deputy collectors.
