A sombre looking Naidu stood with folded hands even as his younger brother, Nara Ramamurthy Naidu, lit the pyre at the end of an hour-long ceremony. The cremation was performed in the private graveyard of the Naidus where his father, Kharjura Naidu, was also laid to rest. Mr. Naidu earlier flew into Tirupati along with his wife, Bhuvaneswari, and other family members by a private chartered airliner and immediately proceeded to his ancestral house where the body was kept in state to help people pay their last respects.
