PONDICHERRY, JAN. 8. The former chairman of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, A. Gnanam, has stressed the need for a broad-based approach in the field psychology. Seminars and conferences organised by professional groups should bring together all aspects of psychology and neurology , he said. He was inaugurating a two-day international seminar on integral yoga psychology and integral education organised by the Pondicherry Psychology Association in collaboration with the All-India Association for Education Research here today. He said mass psychology and mass pedagogy should be encouraged, particularly at a time when globalisation was giving rise to several challenges and opportunities. The professional institutions should evolve strategies that would enable the development of psychology in all its formats, as psychology was both an art and a science.
