CHENNAI, JAN. 8. A Giant Schnauzer, Winnipeg's Rembrandt, was adjudged `best in show' in the Madras Canine Club's 63rd championship dog show at the University Union ground on Saturday. Owned by K.S. Balakrishna Setty, the two-and-a-half-year old dog is a Brazilian and American champion. Another of Setty's imported dogs, an Afghan Hound responding to the name Tahkira What The Hell (an Australian champion), finished second among the final eight that made it to the championship round, judged by Percival Green from South Africa. Eiko Day Altobello, a Dobermann dog owned by Chandresh Pancholi, was third. G. Sudheer Raju's Pomeranian dog, Vickvin's Smart Guy, bagged the `best puppy in show' title and the `best in show bred in India' crown, apart from finishing seventh overall in the championship. P. Balasubramanian, vice-chairman, Kennel Club of India (KCI), gave away the prizes. The KCI's fifth National championship will be held at the same venue on Sunday.
