Mahabubnagar Jan. 8. Leaders of different forums struggling for Statehood for Telangana region have announced that a new broad-based forum merging all the forums wedded to the cause of separate Telangana State would be formed shortly. The Telangana Jana Sabha State convener, Akula Bhoomaiaah, TRS Loyalists Group State Convener, Mechineni Kishan Rao, the Telangana Rastra Sadhana Samithi State convener, A. Lokender Reddy and the Telangana People's Movement State convener, Pasham Yadagiri, addressed a press conference here on Saturday and said the new forum would work on a five-point programme to liberate Telangana. It would launch a struggle against discrimination against Telangana region, suppression of Telangana interests, exploitation of Telangana resources, colonial rule of Andhras and insults meted out by Andhras to Telangana culture and language. The TRS leaders who were sharing Cabinet berths with the Congress were only spectators while the Rajasekhar Reddy Government was trying to divert river Krishna and Godavari water to Andhra and Rayalaseema. They opined that the State Government should take up irrigation projects in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions only after announcing legitimate share of river waters to Telangana. They said there was no meaning in achieving separate State for Telangana region after forgoing the legitimate share of Krishna, Godavari and Thungabhdra water. Protection of river water should be the main agenda of the TRS Ministers in the YS Rajasekhar Reddy's Cabinet, they opined.
