VISAKHAPATNAM, JAN. 8. Kurukshetra University claimed two gold medals through Balinder Singh (67.5 kg) and Angrej Singh (75 kg) in the all-India inter-University powerlifting championships here on Saturday. Andhra University won its first medal, when V. Ajay Kumar claimed the 60 kg gold late on Friday night. A.U. won another gold, this time in the best physique competition when T. Naga Gowtham won the 60 kg category.
Powerlifting: 60 kg: V. Ajay Kumar (AU), 67.5 kg: Balinder Singh (Kurukshetra).
75 kg: Angrej Singh (Kurukshetra).
Best physique: 60 kg: T. Naga Gowtham (AU).65 kg: S. Omkhar (Osmania),70 kg: N.G. Ranadhir (Manipur),75 kg: Ankur Sharma (Kurukshetra).
