Time for conversion of loans extended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,
JAN. 8.
The Government has extended the time for conversion of short-term loans into medium-term loans by cooperatives, on account of last year's drought, up to January 31.
The time for rescheduling medium-term loans has also been extended to the end of the month. Official releases said that this was because all eligible members could not complete the procedures for submission of their applications in the district and State cooperative banks and get the refinance sanctioned.
The release said that the Registrar of Cooperatives had directed the officials concerned to ensure that all eligible farmers received the benefit of the scheme.
