Poddar is winner

BANGALORE, JAN. 8. Amitabh Poddar emerged winner of the inaugural edition of the BGC Malaysia Airlines and Malaysia Toursim golf tournament at the BGC here on Saturday. Poddar with 29 points bagged the 0-12 handicap section from Naresh Sachdev who had 28 points.

Dhanalakshmi Rice won the 13-24 handicap section and S.K. Raghunandan finished runner-up.

Deepak Anand and Sanjay Malpani won business class tickets to Malaysia in a lucky draw from among the competitors.

The results:

0-12 handicap: 1. Amitabh Poddar (29); 2. Naresh Sachdev (28); 3. Suresh Mouli (27).

Nett score: 1. Ramesh Mouli (34); 2. Rosli Ismail (34); 3. Sudarshan Maney (33).

13-24 handicap: 1. Dhanalakshmi Rice (27); 2. S.K. Raghunandan (20); 3. Shravan Gupta (20).

Nett score: 1. Somashekar (39); 2. A.S. Almeida (38); 3. G.V.R. Prasad (38).Other prizes:
