KANNUR, JAN. 8. The Governor, R.L. Bhatia, will inaugurate `Vishranthi,' home for the aged, at Pariyaram here on January 12. K.J. Joseph, former Director General of Police and managing trustee of the Home Trust Kannur, which has developed the old age home, said at a press conference here that `Vishranthi' would provide accommodation for people belonging to the middle and higher classes. The former Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, will preside over the function.
Cottages
`Vishranthi' has been built on a seven-acre plot. Construction of 10 cottages has already been completed, Mr. Joseph said. More cottages would be constructed soon, he added. Those above 60 years could become a lifetime inmate of `Vishranthi' on payment of Rs.3,30,000. Inmates would have to pay additional amount towards food and other expenses, Mr. Joseph added.
