KOLLAM, JAN. 8. The 17th Kollam District Schools Youth Festival began at Kottiyam near here today. The CF High School grounds is the main venue where all the dance items would be held. Five more other venues at Kottiyam have been set up for the event. The festival was formally inaugurated by the Kollam MP, P. Rajendran. The traditional cultural procession in connection with the festival was not held in view of the tsunami disaster at Alapad.
