air abates

Mainly clear sky with a likely minimum temperature of 16 degree Celsius is forecast for Sunday. The city on Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 30.9 degree Celsius, minimum of 16.5 degrees Celsius and relative humidity of 41 per cent.

Certificates for girl students

Several girl students who completed diploma course in computer applications at Computerised Calligraphy Training Centre for Women, Nampally Educational Campus, were given certificates on Saturday. The District Vocational Officer, Intermediate Education, Y.V. Chowdhary, the DEO, S. Jagannath Reddy, and the College Development Committee chairman, Mohd. Jaleel Pasha, were present.

Paediatric cardiology meet

Apollo Children's Heart Hospital will organise a workshop on `Paediatric cardiac intervention' on January 12 at its Jubilee Hills centre. The workshop will focus on the latest devices to close holes in the hearts of children. Lecture on ageing

Noted neurophysician, Prithika Chary, will deliver the Seventh Dr. Leslie J. Fernandez Memorial Lecture on `From ebony to platinum - the alchemy of graceful ageing' at Bhaskara Auditorium of Birla Science Centre, Adarshnagar, on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. Dr. Chary is chief of epileptology at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai.

Ladies Day

The Majlis Bachao Tehreek has demanded restoration of `Ladies Day' facility at the ongoing Industrial Exhibition. The MBT corporator, Amjadullah Khan, on Saturday said a special day for women had been there for the last 65 years and if it was not restored, an agitation would be launched.

`Idea No.1'

re-launched

The interactive and entertaining game show of Telugu film songs on Maa TV channel, `Idea No.1 Gold,' has been re-launched with more melodies and lots of gold to be won. The programme will be telecast between 8.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. on Saturdays. Pragati decennial celebrations

Pragati Vidya Niketan organised an exhibition on science and social events on Saturday. Over 150 exhibits, including tsunami warning signal and Egyptian mummy, were displayed. The exhibition was arranged as part of the decennial celebrations of the college. Cultural programmes will be held on Sunday and Monday, according to a press release.

Marriage alliance meet

The Samyukta Karnatak Sangh, Karnataka-based organisation, will conduct a `bride and bridegroom meet' at Sri Raghavendra Swami Mutt, Barkatpura, on Sunday. Registrations will commence at the venue at 2 p.m., to be preceded by Satyanarayana puja, according to a release.
